Stainless Steel Cooking Grate 65905

This stainless-steel cooking grate replaces the original porcelain-enameled grids that are no longer available. It is manufactured as a direct-fit replacement for Genesis Silver A and Spirit 500 series grills. The part number is 65905 and it supersedes the earlier 78991 reference. Dimensions are 14 15/16 by 11 5/16 inches.

Fits Genesis Silver A and Spirit 500 models

The grate fits 98 listed Weber models produced between 2000 and 2005, including Genesis Silver A LP and NG variants. It also fits five Kenmore models such as 616.2241001 and 616.551502. Buyers with other grill series or newer Genesis generations should verify compatibility before ordering.

Single grate sold individually

Each unit is sold as a single grate, so a full cooking surface requires multiple pieces depending on the grill configuration. The stainless steel construction resists rust and eliminates the chipping common with porcelain coatings. No additional hardware or tools are included in the package.

Questions about this item

Does the 65905 grate fit my Spirit 500 grill without any other parts?

Yes, the 65905 grate is made for the Spirit 500 and installs directly on the existing burners.

Will the 65905 grate work with the porcelain-enamelled grids I still have on my Genesis Silver A?

The 65905 grate replaces those porcelain grids, so you would remove the old grids and use this stainless-steel grate instead.

How can I confirm the 65905 grate is seated correctly after I put it in?

The grate should sit flat on the burner brackets with no wobble and the 14 15/16 by 11 5/16 dimensions should match the firebox opening.
