4-inch silicon-carbide wire wheel
The Weiler 31114 is a 4-inch crimped nylon wire wheel brush loaded with 180-grit silicon carbide abrasive. A 1/2-inch threaded arbor with a 3/8-inch reducer fits die grinders, pencil grinders, straight grinders and drill presses. Maximum rated speed is 20,000 RPM.
Best for light deburring on carbon steel
Suited for operators who need fine surface preparation, light rust removal or blending on carbon steel using a small grinder or drill press. Not intended for heavy stock removal, aggressive weld cleaning or work on stainless steel where contamination must be avoided.
180-grit silicon-carbide abrasive
The 180-grit silicon-carbide loading determines cut aggressiveness and finish quality; choose this wheel when a fine, consistent satin finish on carbon steel is the primary requirement.

Questions about this item
How much heat does the 31114 brush generate when running at 20 000 RPM all day?
The brush itself produces no heat; heat comes from friction on the workpiece, so use light pressure and keep the tool moving to limit temperature rise.
What tool and arbor combination do I need to mount the 1/2 in threaded hole on the 31114?
A die grinder, drill press, pencil grinder or straight grinder with a 1/2 in to 3/8 in threaded arbor will accept the brush directly.
Will the 180 grit nylon bristles damage softer metals I still use in older projects?
The 180 grit nylon is designed for carbon steel; on softer metals it removes material more gently but test a small area first to confirm the finish.
