Retro-reflex sensor detects objects up to 11000 mm with PNP output, 500 Hz switching and IP67 housing
The Wenglor LN40PA3 is a retro-reflex photoelectric sensor designed for presence detection in industrial automation. It operates on a 10...30 V DC supply and provides a PNP antivalent switching output with 200 mA capacity. The red-light emitter works with a polarisation filter and two-lens optics for reliable performance. A potentiometer allows adjustment of the switching point.
This sensor fits machines and conveyors that require a detection distance up to 11000 mm using the RQ100BA reflector. The IP67-rated plastic housing withstands wash-down environments and temperatures from -10...60 °C. It is not intended for AC supply networks or applications needing analogue distance measurement. Buyers requiring a different output logic or connector type should select another model.
The maximum operating distance is 11000 mm when paired with the specified RQ100BA reflector or foil. This range determines whether the sensor can bridge the required gap between emitter and target in your layout. Verify the available mounting distance against this figure before purchase.

The sensor is specified to work with the RQ100BA reflector or reflector foil to achieve its full 11000 mm sensing range.
Yes, the sensor accepts 10...30 V DC and draws under 40 mA at 24 V, so it shares a standard 24 V rail without issue.
The PNP output delivers up to 200 mA with a voltage drop below 2,5 V; a multimeter or PLC input will show a clean high/low transition each time the beam is interrupted.
