Detects objects at 50…500 mm with a 450 mm measuring range, 10 mm resolution and 5 % linearity using 880 nm infrared light
The Wenglor UF55MG3 is a fiber-optic sensor with a working range of 50...500 mm and a measuring range of 450 mm. It provides 10 mm resolution and 5 % linearity using an 880 nm infrared light source. The sensor delivers a 0...10 V DC analog output with 1 kOhm output resistance and includes short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection. Its IP65-rated, fully encapsulated nickel-plated brass housing operates from -10...60 °C.
This sensor suits automation tasks that require non-contact distance detection within 500 mm using fiber-optic guidance. The potentiometer adjustment allows simple threshold setting without software. Buyers who need a switching output instead of an analog signal, a wider temperature range than -10...60 °C, or a supply voltage outside 20...30 V DC should consider a different model.
The 0...10 V DC analog output directly determines whether the UF55MG3 integrates with your controller or data-acquisition hardware. If your system accepts a 0...10 V signal with 1 kOhm load, the sensor is compatible; if you require a current loop, digital interface, or different voltage span, this unit will not fit.

The sensor maintains its 10 mm resolution and 5 % linearity across the full 50...500 mm working range, with a 450 mm measuring span.
Current draw stays below 40 mA at 24 V DC; temperature drift is 1 mm/K within the -10...60 °C ambient range.
A 20...30 V DC source and a 4-pin M12 × 1 cable are required to power the sensor and read the 0...10 V analog output.
