Three-track USB reader for POS and ID verification

The Werleo MSR90 reads up to three tracks of magnetic-stripe data using a USB keyboard-emulation interface that requires no driver installation. It supports ISO7811, AAMVA, CA DMV and most other common card formats, making it suitable for retail point-of-sale, access control, time-and-attendance and identity-verification workflows. The device draws minimal power and operates on Windows, macOS and other USB-capable systems.

Limited to magnetic-stripe cards

The reader only processes cards that conform to the listed magnetic-stripe standards; it cannot read chip-based EMV, contactless NFC or barcode media. Data is transmitted as keystrokes into any active text field, so the host application must be ready to accept keyboard input and cannot negotiate encryption or tokenisation through the reader itself. Bi-directional swipe helps with worn or high-jitter stripes, but the hardware offers no fallback for damaged tracks beyond magnetic reading.

Threaded mounting inserts

Threaded inserts allow the unit to be secured to a counter, kiosk or bracket, reducing cable strain in permanent deployments. A green LED stays lit when the reader is powered and blinks on each successful swipe, giving immediate visual confirmation without on-screen prompts. The programmable configuration utility runs on Windows and macOS for adjusting output format or track selection, but the reader functions fully without it. Buyers needing EMV chip, contactless or encrypted PIN entry should consider a different device class.
