45" Round Halo Light Modifier

The Westcott 2025 45" Round Halo Light Modifier delivers soft, even illumination with a circular shape that produces natural catchlights in the eyes. Its fiberglass frame construction ensures durability for frequent on-location and studio use. The umbrella-style design allows quick assembly without extra adapter rings, making it suitable for portrait, beauty and fashion photographers who need reliable light shaping.

Upgrade from smaller or rectangular modifiers

Photographers moving up from compact softboxes or rectangular reflectors gain a larger, round light source that wraps more evenly around the subject. The 45-inch diameter creates broader coverage and smoother fall-off, which is worth the step up when shooting full-length portraits or groups where consistent skin tones matter. Builders who need a second card will find this single modifier does not support multi-light configurations without additional units.

Sustained performance on location

The fiberglass ribs resist flexing and corrosion during repeated setup cycles and exposure to challenging weather conditions. Because the frame maintains its shape over time, light quality stays consistent across long shooting days rather than degrading after a few sessions. The tool-free umbrella mechanism means breakdown stays fast even when the modifier has been heated by continuous strobe output.

Questions about this item

How large is the 45" Round Halo modifier when fully assembled?

The modifier measures 45 inches in diameter once the fiberglass frame is opened and locked into its round shape.

What is the one step people miss when mounting it on a strobe or flash?

Because it uses an umbrella-style frame, you must slide the shaft into the light's umbrella mount and tighten the knob — no separate adapter ring is needed.

Which part of the 2025 Halo modifier is most likely to wear out first with heavy location use?

The fiberglass ribs can fatigue after repeated opening and closing; Westcott sells replacement rib kits so the frame can be rebuilt instead of discarded.
