  • Compact carry case protects frames and fabrics during transport

Portable Light Control System

The Westcott V-Flat is a collapsible lighting tool for studio and location photographers who need consistent diffusion, bounce, negative fill, and flagging in a single portable kit. It ships with one white and one black washable fabric panel mounted on aluminum frames.

Collapsible Aluminum Frame

The frames fold down into a supplied carry case for transport and deploy quickly without tools, freeing up studio space and eliminating the bulk of traditional foam-core V-flats. Washable fabrics resist wrinkles and maintain a smooth surface for reliable light control across repeated shoots.

Replaces Foam Core V-Flats

This system replaces rigid foam-core boards that warp, chip, dent, and are difficult to move. The jump is worth it for photographers who travel to locations, change sets frequently, or need a durable, wrinkle-resistant surface that packs flat and survives heavy professional use.

Questions about this item

How does the collapsible aluminium frame hold up when the V-Flat is left standing for a full day of shooting?

The aluminium frame is designed to stay rigid without warping, chipping or denting, so it keeps its shape through extended studio or location sessions.

Does the fabric or frame become hot or noisy after hours under continuous lighting?

The washable fabric and aluminium frame produce no noise and generate no noticeable heat, even when used all day under hot studio lights.

What additional hardware is required before the V-Flat can be used as a freestanding backdrop?

Nothing extra is needed; the collapsible frame and included carry case let the white or black fabric stand on its own right out of the box.
