WD VelociRaptor 1TB 10000 RPM SATA Drive

The Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD1000DHTZ is a 1TB desktop internal hard drive spinning at 10000 RPM with a 64MB cache. It connects via a SATA 6.0Gb/s interface and uses a 3.5-inch form factor with an IcePack mounting frame. The drive is supplied new as a bare unit without retail packaging.

Suited for workstations and high-end media editing

This drive targets workstations, high-end video and photo editing systems, low-end servers and performance enthusiasts who need ultra-fast mechanical storage. Buyers who require larger capacities or solid-state speeds should consider other storage types.

10000 RPM spindle speed determines responsiveness

The 10000 RPM rotation rate is the key specification that defines this drive's performance profile for demanding workloads. Advanced Format, RAFF and NoTouch ramp load technologies support reliability and ultra-cool operation during sustained use.
