Western Digital WD11PURZ 1TB external hard drive

SKU CH-1QW7-S9QB8 MPN WD11PURZ

A 1 TB surveillance hard drive with a SATA 6 Gb/s interface, 64 MB cache and a 3.5 inch form factor

  • 1 TB capacity for continuous surveillance recording
  • SATA 6 Gb/s interface enables steady high-definition video streams
  • 64 MB cache smooths multi-camera write workloads
  • 5-inch desktop form factor fits standard drive bays

Surveillance-grade storage

This Western Digital WD Purple drive provides 1TB of capacity for continuous video recording in security systems. The 3.5-inch form factor and SATA 6 Gb/s interface suit desktop DVRs and NVR appliances. It is built for write-intensive workloads typical of always-on cameras.

Straightforward SATA install

Mount the 3.5-inch drive in a standard bay and connect the SATA data and power cables. The 64 MB cache handles streaming writes, but the drive lacks the throughput for random-access databases or boot duties. It is not suited to portable enclosures or laptops.
