12TB Surveillance Hard Drive

The WD Purple WD121PURZ is a 12TB 3.5-inch internal hard drive built for continuous video recording. It spins at 7200 RPM with a 256MB cache and connects via a SATA 6.0Gb/s interface. The drive supports up to 64 cameras and handles workloads of up to 180TB per year.

Check SATA Port and Bay Space

Verify your recorder or server has a free SATA 6.0Gb/s port and a standard 3.5-inch drive bay. The unit measures 147.00mm long, 101.60mm wide and 26.10mm high. It is a bare drive supplied without cables, mounting screws or a bracket, so confirm your enclosure includes the necessary hardware.

Ideal for Multi-Bay NVRs, Not for Boot Drives

This drive suits installers expanding network video recorders that need prioritised write performance and AllFrame technology for stream integrity. It also supports up to 16 AI channels for deep-learning analytics on compatible systems. Builders wanting a low-power archive drive or a fast operating-system disk should consider a different model.
