What this envelope is for

The #63 open end clasp envelope measures 6.5 by 9.5 inches and uses 28# recycled kraft paper. It is built for catalogues, reports and other flat mail that must stay secure in transit. The metal clasp and remoistening seal give two ways to close each piece.

Limits of the paper and clasp

The 28# stock resists everyday handling but will tear if overstuffed or caught on rough edges. SFI certification covers the fibre source, not the envelope strength. The centre seam and vellum finish add rigidity, yet the open end design leaves the short edge exposed to moisture and snagging.

Installing and common issues

Peel the flap, press the remoistening seal, then fasten the metal clasp for a double lock. Misaligned flaps cause the clasp to catch paper fibres and rip the vellum surface. Overfilled envelopes stress the centre seam and pop the clasp open during sorting.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the #63 6.5 x 9.5 inch clasp envelope or a different size for my documents?

The #63 measures 6.5 x 9.5 inches, so choose it when your pages fit that open-end format; smaller or larger catalogs need a different envelope number.

How does the 28 lb recycled kraft paper perform when the envelope is filled and mailed?

The 28 lb Sunkraft stock with SFI certification and vellum finish resists tearing during handling while the metal clasp and remoistening seal keep the flap secure.

What sealing method does the clasp envelope use and how reliable is it for repeated opening?

It combines a metal clasp for reusable fastening with a remoistening seal for permanent closure; the centre seam and extended flap add strength for multiple openings.
