Dimensions and Packaging

These envelopes measure 9 by 12 inches and ship in a box of 500 pieces weighing 22 pounds. The open-side format makes them suitable for inserting booklets, catalogues or multi-page documents without folding.

Paper Specification Limits

The 28-pound tan Kraft stock provides a firm feel but is not rated for heavy inserts or automated high-speed mailing equipment. Users requiring a window, peel-and-seal closure or lighter weight paper should select a different product.

Build Quality and Daily Use

SFI-certified Kraft paper with a vellum finish and centre seam construction resists tearing during handling. The remoistening seal requires moisture to activate, so the flap stays secure once sealed but cannot be resealed after opening.

Questions about this item

What does the 28# paper weight mean for everyday mailing?

The 28# kraft stock gives a sturdy feel that resists tearing and handles inserts without excessive bulk, keeping postage costs predictable for standard letter-rate shipments.

How does the open-side, center-seam design affect loading and sealing?

The opening runs along the 12-inch edge with a single center seam, so documents slide in from the side and the remoistening flap seals securely without a window interfering with contents.

What does SFI certified indicate about the kraft paper used?

SFI certification confirms the tan/brown kraft paper comes from responsibly managed forests, meeting Sustainable Forestry Initiative sourcing standards for the 500-envelope box.
