Open End Catalog Envelopes

The Western States open end catalog envelopes measure 5 by 7.5 inches and come in a box of 500. They are made from 28 pound tan and brown kraft paper with a vellum finish and a center seam. The envelopes use a remoistening seal and contain no window.

Center Seam Construction

The center seam design places the seam along the middle of the envelope rather than the side. This construction suits catalogs, booklets and other thick inserts that need to slide in smoothly. Side seam envelopes may catch on bulky contents during insertion.

500 Count Box Weight and Capacity

Each box holds 500 envelopes and weighs 7.5 pounds, while a full carton contains 2500 envelopes. The 28 pound kraft stock handles standard mail pieces and lightweight catalogs. Heavier multi-page booklets or rigid items may exceed the paper strength or the open end opening.

Questions about this item

What does the 28# paper weight mean for everyday mailing?

The 28# stock provides a sturdy feel that resists tearing during handling while keeping postage costs manageable for standard catalog inserts.

How does the remoistening seal perform compared to peel-and-stick closures?

The traditional remoistening gum creates a permanent, tamper-evident bond once moistened, unlike resealable adhesive strips that can be opened and closed.

Will the center seam and open-end design fit standard catalog pages without folding?

Yes, the 5 x 7.5 inch open-end format with center seam accommodates unfolded sheets of that size, allowing documents to slide in from the short side.
