  • Box of 500 envelopes reduces reorder frequency

Ideal for High-Volume Mailing

These open-end catalog envelopes measure 6" x 9" and use 28# tan kraft paper with a vellum finish. They are SFI certified and feature a center seam construction with a remoistening seal. Each box contains 500 envelopes and weighs 11.5 lbs, making them suited for bulk shipping operations.

Practical Limits of Paper Mailers

The 28# paper weight provides durability for standard documents but has a finite tear resistance under heavy loads. Remoistening seals require moisture to activate and may not adhere reliably in very dry or humid conditions. Center seam construction creates a slight ridge that can affect feeding through some high-speed inserting machines.

Capacity and Handling Headroom

A single box holds 500 envelopes while a full carton contains 2500 units for larger mailings. The 6" x 9" format comfortably fits folded letters, invoices, and small booklets without creasing. It runs out of space for thicker catalogs, rigid items, or anything exceeding the envelope's flat profile.

Questions about this item

How do I decide between the 28# weight and other paper weights for catalog envelopes?

The 28# weight indicates a sturdy Kraft paper suitable for mailing catalogs and documents without excessive bulk; choose it when you need durability but not the rigidity of heavier stock.

What does the 11.5 lbs per box figure tell me about handling and storage?

Each box of 500 envelopes weighs 11.5 lbs, so a single box is easy to lift and shelf, while a full carton of 2500 envelopes will be roughly five times that weight.

How does the center seam construction affect what I can insert and how the envelope feeds through a printer?

The center seam runs down the middle of the envelope back, leaving the full 6" x 9" front panel flat for printing and providing a smooth path through most desktop printers without seam interference.
