Envelope Size and Purpose

These open-end catalog envelopes measure 9 by 12 inches and use 28-pound Gray Kraft paper with a vellum finish. The center-seam construction and extended flaps suit high-volume mailing of catalogs, reports or flat documents. Each box contains 500 envelopes weighing 19.5 lbs total.

Replacing Standard Mailers

The self-sealing latex adhesive removes the need for moisture or tape, speeding up packing lines compared to traditional gummed flaps. The upgrade is worth it when processing hundreds of pieces per shift and a secure, tamper-evident closure is required. Acid-free, SFI-certified stock also meets archival and sustainability mandates that basic mailers do not.

Build Integration Needs

The envelopes arrive in a single 500-count carton that feeds directly into most tabletop inserters or hand-fold stations. No special storage conditions are needed beyond a dry, flat surface. The consistent 28-pound weight ensures reliable feeding through postage meters and sorting equipment without jams.

Questions about this item

Will the 9 x 12 inch envelopes fit in a standard legal-size filing cabinet?

At 9 by 12 inches the envelopes match standard legal-width dimensions, so they sit flat in any legal-size drawer or shelf without overhang.

How do I seal the self-sealing latex flaps without damaging the adhesive?

Peel the protective strip from the Pres-Stik flap, press firmly along the entire center seam for three seconds, and avoid touching the latex before application.

How long will the SFI-certified Gray Kraft paper stay acid-free in storage?

The acid-free vellum finish meets archival standards, so the paper resists yellowing and brittleness for decades when kept in a cool, dry environment.
