Open Side Lens Envelope

The Western States envelope measures 2.25 by 2.25 inches and uses an open side design with a centre seam. It is made from white sulphite paper that carries SFI certification and a 92 percent brightness rating. The vellum finish gives a smooth surface for writing or printing. Each box contains 1000 ungummed envelopes.

Capacity and headroom

A single box supplies 1000 envelopes and a full carton holds 10000 units for high volume mailing. The 20 pound stock handles standard letters and lightweight inserts without tearing. The small square format limits contents to items that fit within the 2.25 inch dimensions. Heavier or multi page documents will exceed the paper weight capacity.

Upgrade path

This product replaces standard gummed envelopes when a moisture free seal is preferred or when custom adhesives are used. The ungummed flap suits automated insertion equipment that applies its own glue or tape. Buyers who need a window envelope or a larger format for standard letter paper cannot use this size. The extended flap aids machine feeding but offers no built in sealing method.

Questions about this item

Will the 2.25" x 2.25" size fit inside standard business envelopes I already use for mailing?

Yes, at 2.25 inches square these envelopes are small enough to insert into common #10 or DL outer envelopes without folding.

How can I confirm the 92% brightness and vellum finish match what I ordered once the box arrives?

The paper has a distinct eggshell texture and a clean white appearance rated at 92% brightness under standard lighting.

The box contains 1000 ungummed envelopes — do I need to buy moistener or sealing tape separately?

Yes, because the flaps are ungummed you will need a separate adhesive such as a moistener, glue stick or tape to seal each envelope.
