What this product is

This is a new welding blanket roll made of uncoated fiberglass in a pink finish. It measures 3.16 feet wide by 150 feet long with a thickness of .04 inches and a material weight of 16 oz per square yard. The blanket is rated to withstand temperatures up to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit and is supplied without grommets for custom cutting and placement.

What to check before ordering

Verify that the 3.16 foot width and 150 foot length suit the area you need to protect during welding or hot work. Confirm that uncoated fiberglass is appropriate for your specific application and that the .04 inch thickness provides sufficient insulation. Ensure the 1,000 degree Fahrenheit temperature rating meets your process requirements and that the lack of grommets works for your mounting method.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This roll suits welders, fabricators and maintenance teams needing a large continuous length of high-temperature fiberglass protection they can cut to size. Buyers who require pre-installed grommets for immediate hanging should look elsewhere. Those needing a coated or silicone-faced surface for slag resistance or a different width to fit specific equipment frames will need an alternative product.

Questions about this item

Does the roll include grommets or mounting hardware, or must they be purchased separately?

The roll is supplied without grommets, so any mounting hardware must be sourced separately.

When should the 3.16 ft by 150 ft roll be chosen over a smaller blanket?

Choose this roll when a continuous 150 ft length is needed to cover long work areas or to cut custom sizes on site.

What protection does the 1,000 °F rating give during actual welding?

The uncoated fiberglass withstands 1,000 °F, shielding nearby surfaces from sparks, spatter and radiant heat during welding operations.
