Carbide jobber drill cuts hardened steel, cast iron and abrasive materials at 118 degrees with .203125 inch diameter
This solid-carbide jobber drill measures 13/64 in with a 118-degree conventional point. It is designed for high-speed cutting of difficult-to-machine materials such as cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, plastic, glass and abrasive composites. The uncoated bright finish suits general-purpose drilling into hardened steel. Supplied as a single piece.
The jobber-length shank fits common drill chucks and collets without adapters. Carbide construction allows higher cutting speeds than high-speed steel, reducing cycle time on abrasive workpieces. No external coolant system is mandated by the tool design. It frees the operator from frequent bit changes when drilling hardened or abrasive stock.
Solid carbide retains hardness at elevated temperatures generated during prolonged drilling. The 118-degree point geometry maintains centering accuracy over repeated holes in cast iron and glass-filled plastics. Uncoated surfaces resist loading when machining non-ferrous alloys at high speed. Wear progresses gradually rather than chipping under continuous load.

The standard jobber flute length governs chip clearance; once the hole depth approaches that length, chips pack the flutes and the feed must be reduced or the drill retracted.
Carbide tolerates far higher edge temperatures than high-speed steel, so the shank will warm but remain safe to handle with gloves during normal production runs.
The shank diameter matches the 13/64 inch cutting diameter, so a 13/64 inch or larger capacity chuck is required.
