25' Medusa Data Snake Cable

The Whirlwind Solutions 25' Box to Fan Medusa Data Snake Cable combines six XLR inputs with two Cat6 Ethercon connections in a single 12-pair assembly. It is built for live sound engineers and AV technicians who need to run analogue audio and digital data together from stage to console.

Verify connector count and cable run

Before ordering, confirm that your mixing position requires exactly six microphone or line-level channels plus two Ethernet links and that a 25-foot trunk reaches your stage box location. The heavy-duty powder-coated steel box and integrated handle are designed for floor placement, so ensure the venue layout accommodates that form factor.

Rugged construction for repeated deployments

Whirlwind by Belden NEC CM rated multipair cable uses 24GA 7x32 conductors with 100% foil shield and drain wire for consistent signal integrity over long shows. Fanouts receive multiple layers of heat shrink, SnakeSkin wrapping, Kellems mesh hanger and strain relief with internal cable clamp, while the supplied Pig Bag protects connectors during transport and storage.

Questions about this item

Does the 25 ft Medusa Data Snake ship with the Pig Bag and Kellems hanger included, or do I need to order them separately?

The Pig Bag and a genuine Kellems wire-mesh hanger are both supplied in the box, so no extra purchase is needed for those items.

Should I choose the version with 6 XLR inputs and 2 Cat6 Ethercon, or is there another capacity option?

This model is offered only in the 6 XLR / 2 Cat6 Ethercon configuration; no alternative channel counts or connector mixes are available.

What does the 12-pair, 24 GA construction mean when I run analog and digital signals through the same 25 ft snake?

Twelve twisted pairs carry six balanced analog channels plus two Cat6 Ethernet lines, each with foil shield and drain wire for noise rejection over the full length.
