Wireway Connector 4×4 Steel

The Wiegmann C0404 connects 4 in by 4 in wireway sections in indoor installations. It is built from 16 ga steel with an ANSI 61 polyester powder finish for corrosion resistance. Electrical contractors and panel builders use it to extend HS and S series wireway runs.

NEMA 1 Indoor Rating

The connector carries a NEMA Type 1 enclosure rating for protection against falling dirt in dry indoor locations. Steel construction and powder coating withstand typical mechanical contact and ambient temperatures. No active cooling or power draw is involved in normal use.

4 in by 4 in Wireway Fit

This part fits only wireway with a 4 in width and 4 in height; other cross-sections will not align with the connector openings. It is not suited for outdoor or wash-down environments requiring NEMA 3R or higher ratings. Buyers needing larger or smaller wireway sizes must select a different connector.

Questions about this item

How is the 4×4 in wireway connector mounted, and what step is often missed?

Align the connector with the HS or S series wireway, fasten the supplied hardware through the pre-punched flanges, then verify the NEMA 1 gasket seats evenly — skipping the gasket check is the common oversight.

What upkeep will the steel connector with ANSI 61 finish require over time?

Inspect the powder coat annually for chips; touch up any bare steel with matching gray enamel to maintain the corrosion barrier the 61 finish provides.

What limit appears first when the connector runs at full cable fill in a NEMA 1 indoor run?

The 16 ga steel body reaches its thermal and fill-capacity ceiling before the UL E32576 listing or CSA LL66078 file impose any further restriction.
