NEMA 1 Carbon Steel Enclosure

The Wiegmann 151804 is a wall-mountable enclosure built from 16-gauge carbon steel for indoor electrical protection. Its NEMA 1 rating suits general-purpose applications where dust and light splashing are the primary concerns.

Hinged Cover With Clamp Closure

A solid hinged cover secures with clamps to keep internal components shielded while allowing quick access for inspection. Mounting holes on the rear simplify installation on standard wall surfaces without extra brackets.

ANSI 61 Powder Coat Finish

The gray ANSI 61 polyester powder coating resists corrosion and matches common industrial colour schemes. CSA, cULus and UL listings confirm compliance with North American safety standards for electrical enclosures.

Questions about this item

What NEMA rating does the A151804 enclosure carry, and what environment does that cover?

The enclosure is NEMA 1 rated, which means it is intended for indoor use and provides a degree of protection against contact with enclosed equipment and falling dirt.

What are the exact mounting-hole dimensions and wall clearance needed for the 15 x 18 in carbon-steel box?

The enclosure measures 15 in wide by 18 in high by 4 in deep with a usable opening depth of 3.88 in; mounting holes are provided on the back for direct wall mounting.

How is the hinged solid cover secured, and what common step is missed during installation?

The cover is held by clamps; the step often missed is tightening each clamp evenly so the ANSI 61 powder-coated seal seats uniformly around the gasket.
