A 12×15×4 inch carbon-steel enclosure rated NEMA 1 with ANSI 61 finish, 16 ga construction and captive screws for wall-mount line protection
The Wiegmann SC121504NK is a carbon steel electrical enclosure rated NEMA 1 for indoor use. It measures 12 inches wide by 15 inches high by 4 inches deep with a 16 gauge wall thickness. The gray ANSI 61 powder coated finish provides corrosion resistance. It is CSA certified, cULus, and UL listed for safety compliance.
This enclosure replaces junction boxes that lack a NEMA 1 rating or sufficient internal volume for wiring. The jump is worth it when your project requires a UL listed enclosure with embossed mounting holes and a solid cover secured by captive plated steel screws. The usable opening depth of 3.88 inches accommodates standard components.
Verify the mounting surface can support the steel enclosure weight and that the embossed mounting holes align with your structure. Ensure the 12 by 15 inch footprint fits the allotted wall space. Confirm that conduit entry points match the solid cover design and that self-tapping screws included are suitable for your mounting hardware.

The carbon-steel body has embossed mounting holes; use lag bolts or anchors sized for the wall material and the enclosure's 16 ga thickness.
Install the plated steel captive screws first, then add the supplied self-tapping screws so the gasket compresses evenly and the NEMA 1 seal holds.
Inspect the gray coating annually; repair any chips or scratches with matching powder-coat paint to maintain corrosion resistance on the carbon steel.
