Black cylindrical foam windscreen, 16 mm bore, 86 mm wide, 111 mm long

WindTech

WindTech Ultra Series US-3 Windscreen 16mm Black

SKU CH-QTPH-PVDE4

16 mm foam windscreen cuts wind, breath and pop noise while shielding the mic from dust and moisture

  • Acoustically transparent foam preserves original frequency response
  • Hypo-allergenic SonicFoam material safe for sensitive users
  • 16 mm bore fits popular mics like AKG C-451
  • Reduces wind velocity to cut noise and pop sounds
  • Shields capsule from dust, dampness and physical damage

Ideal fit for slender microphones

This windscreen suits straight-column and small ball-end microphones up to .75" (1.91 cm) in diameter. It covers models such as the AKG C-451 and similar capsules used in streaming, podcasting and location recording. The 16 mm inside diameter slides on securely without tape or elastic bands.

Acoustically transparent foam

Proprietary SonicFoam lets sound energy pass freely while reducing wind velocity to cut wind noise, breath sounds and pop artefacts. The open-cell structure avoids colouring the microphone's frequency response during normal indoor or outdoor use. No power or signal path is involved, so there is no self-noise or distortion.

Durable US-made construction

The black foam body measures 3.38" (8.57 cm) in overall diameter and 4.38" (11.13 cm) in length. It shields the capsule from dust, moisture and accidental knocks, extending the life of expensive microphones. The slip-on design adds no extra mounting hardware and stores flat in a gear bag.

Questions about this item

How do I fit the US-3 windscreen onto my microphone without tearing the foam?

Gently stretch the 16mm opening over the capsule; the foam accepts straight column and small ball end mics up to .75 inch diameter such as the AKG C-451

What upkeep will the SonicFoam need after months of streaming sessions?

The open-cell foam is hypo-allergenic and washable; rinse with mild soap, squeeze out water and air dry to restore acoustic transparency

At what point does wind noise start leaking through during a long outdoor recording?

The 86mm outer diameter and 111mm length are engineered to cut wind velocity, so pop and breath sounds stay suppressed even in sustained gusts
