Compatible OptiPlex models

This 240W server power supply fits OptiPlex 3040 5040 7040 desktops. It replaces part numbers 0M1C3 W72XN DHVJN H62JR 0TRD3 and model numbers D240EM-00 AC240EM-00 L240AM-00 H240EM-00 B240EM-00. The unit is new and rated for 240W maximum output. Builders with other chassis or higher-wattage needs should look elsewhere.

Replaces multiple Dell part numbers

The supply covers five Dell model numbers and five part numbers in one SKU. That consolidation means a single spare covers several OptiPlex generations. No extra cables adapters or software are bundled. The package contains only the power supply itself.

Standard ATX-style installation

Installation follows the usual desktop power-supply swap: remove the side panel disconnect the old cables fit the new unit and reconnect. The 100-240V 4A 50-60Hz input works on mains worldwide. The most common issue is forgetting to reseat the 24-pin and 4-push connectors firmly.

Questions about this item

Will the internal fan need replacement after years of continuous operation?

The unit is a sealed 240 W switching supply with no user-serviceable fan; if the fan fails the entire power supply must be replaced.

What limits sustained output before the protection circuit trips?

Continuous draw is capped at 240 W; exceeding that triggers over-power shutdown.

How much heat and noise should I expect when the supply runs at full load all day?

At 240 W load the supply draws up to 4 A from a 100-240 V 50-60 Hz mains, so waste heat and fan noise will be noticeable in a quiet room.
