A 400W 1U server power supply with 80plus efficiency, modified to add a -12V rail for stability, measuring 150x80x40mm with a 168mm plug length
The WMtec D-ELTA dps-400ab-12b is a 400W FLEX short version power supply built for 1U server chassis and ITX builds. It delivers a rated 400W with peak capacity above 500W and includes a -12V rail modification for improved motherboard stability and hardware protection.
An 80 PLUS certified design reduces waste heat and keeps power draw efficient during normal operation. A silent fan handles airflow through the compact 150x80x40mm frame, while the modified plug extends to 168mm for secure connectivity in tight spaces.
This module upgrades older 1U power supplies that omit the -12V rail, a gap that can cause instability on modern server boards. The jump is worth it when your chassis requires the short FLEX form factor and you need the extra rail for reliable POST and peripheral support.

Slide the unit into the 1U bay until the edge connector seats firmly, then secure the retention screw; the step often missed is fully engaging the connector before tightening the screw, which can leave the -12 V rail disconnected.
The internal fan is the only moving part; plan to clean dust from the intake every six to twelve months and replace the fan if bearing noise appears, otherwise the solid-state circuitry requires no scheduled service.
Thermal protection engages once internal temperature exceeds the design threshold, typically before the 500 W peak rating can be maintained continuously, so sustained output stays at or below the 400 W rating.
