14-Core Replacement Cable

This 1.2 m earphone cable features a 14-core TPE construction with a built-in microphone. The main line measures 2.0 mm and the branch lines 1.5 mm. A right-angled 3.5 mm plug follows the American CTIA standard. It is sold new as a repair or upgrade part for compatible headsets.

Users With CTIA Headsets

The cable suits owners of headphones or earphones that use a 3.5 mm CTIA connection and need a replacement with an inline mic. It will not work for devices that require an OMTP wiring layout or a straight plug. Buyers who want a different length or a balanced connector should look at something else.

Mic And Connector Ready

The package includes the cable with the microphone already integrated. No extra adapters, solder or tools are supplied. The right-angled plug reduces strain on the device jack during daily use. The TPE jacket protects the 14 internal conductors from wear.

Questions about this item

What devices must already have a 3.5 mm CTIA jack for this cable to work?

Any phone, MP3 player, MP4 player or similar device with a 3.5 mm American-standard CTIA socket will accept the right-angle plug on this 1.2 m replacement cable.

Will the 2.0 mm main line and 1.5 mm branch lines fit the strain reliefs on my existing earphone housings?

The cable uses a 2.0 mm main diameter and 1.5 mm branch diameters, so check that your current housings have matching entry holes before soldering the 14-core wire.

How can I confirm the inline microphone is functioning after I solder the connections?

Plug the 3.5 mm right-angle connector into a CTIA device, make a test call or voice recording and verify the other party hears you clearly through the mic.
