180 W power supply for OptiPlex 3040, 5040 and 7040 small form factor desktops, accepting 100-127 V or 240 V input at 50-60 Hz
This 180 W server power supply is built for Dell OptiPlex 3040, 5040 and 7040 small form factor chassis. It replaces the original unit when the factory supply fails or when a spare is kept on hand for quick maintenance. The part numbers D3YCN, 0D3YCN and CN-0D3YCN confirm direct fitment for those three models. Builders working on other OptiPlex sizes or different brands cannot use this unit.
The supply ships with an 8-pin output connector that matches the motherboard header on the listed SFF systems. No extra cables or adapters are included in the package. The input stage accepts 100-127 V at 6 A or 240 V at 3 A across 50-60 Hz, so the same unit works on North American and European mains without a voltage switch.
The metal housing follows the standard server power supply form factor used in the target OptiPlex SFF cases. Mounting holes line up with the original chassis screws for a tool-free swap. An internal fan provides forced-air cooling through the rear vent. Systems that require a higher wattage rating or a different connector layout will need a different power supply.

The unit uses a single 180 W SMPS design with no user-serviceable fan filter; blow compressed air through the rear grille every six to twelve months depending on dust levels.
The supply delivers a maximum of 180 W combined across all rails; sustained loads above that will trigger over-current protection and shut the system down.
At 240 V it draws up to 3 A; the internal fan runs continuously, producing typical office-level noise and warm exhaust air from the rear vent.
