Replacement Headband Hook for ATH‑M50 Series

This metal and plastic hook replaces the original head‑beam cushion on Audio‑Technica ATH‑M50, M50X and M50S headphones. The 70 mm diameter matches the factory spec so the band sits at the correct angle. Installation uses the supplied metal screws for a secure fit. No retail packaging is included.

What the Bundle Adds

The package supplies one complete headband hook with integrated plastic hooks and metal screws. Swapping the worn part restores the original clamping force and ear‑cushion alignment without tools beyond a small screwdriver. The silica‑gel coating on contact points reduces slippage during long sessions. Colour may vary slightly from product images.

Build and Daily Use

Mixed metal, plastic and silica‑gel construction resists fatigue from repeated flexing. The 2.75 in diameter keeps the headband geometry identical to stock, so existing ear pads reattach without modification. Screw‑mount design prevents the hook from rotating under tension. Buyers needing a full headband assembly or alternative colour options will not find them here.

Questions about this item

Will the metal screws on the 70mm headband hook need periodic tightening?

The metal screws hold the plastic hooks to the headband; check them after the first few uses and tighten if they loosen.

What fails first on the 70mm silica-gel hook when worn daily?

The silica-gel coating on the hook can tear or degrade before the metal core, especially where it bends repeatedly.

Does the 70mm hook become hot or uncomfortable after all-day wear?

The metal core conducts heat, so the hook may feel warm against the head during extended sessions.
