DELL T5400 T5500 workstation replacement

This 875W unit replaces the original power supply in DELL Precision T5400 and T5500 workstations. It matches the H875EF-00, NPS-D875E001L and 0J556T part numbers used in those systems. The supply carries 80 silver efficiency certification.

Upgrade from failed or ageing OEM units

Swap this in when the factory supply fails, fan noise increases or voltage rails drift under load. The jump is worth it when the workstation still serves CAD, render or compute tasks and a full platform change is not justified. It restores the 875W rating the chassis was designed for.

Direct fit into the proprietary chassis

Installation uses the original mounting points and connectors; no adapter cables or case modifications are required. The main risk is seating the unit fully so the latch engages — an incomplete seat causes intermittent power. Verify the spare part label matches NPS-875BB A or W299G before closing the side panel.

Questions about this item

Will this 875W unit fit the standard PSU bay in my DELL Precision T5400 or T5500?

Yes, the N875EF-00 is built to the exact form factor used in the Precision T5400 and T5500 workstations, matching the original H875EF-00 and NPS-D875E001L dimensions.

What is the correct way to seat this supply, and which step do installers often skip?

Slide the unit in until the latch clicks, then tighten the captive thumbscrew; the step most often missed is fully engaging that screw, which secures the power connector.

Which internal part will need attention after several years of continuous use?

The internal cooling fan is the only moving component; after extended operation its bearings can wear, so plan to clean or replace the fan assembly when noise increases.
