Compact Artist Brush

The Wooster F1628-1 is a size #1 artist brush with soft camel hair bristles and a nickel-plated copper ferrule. Its orange wood handle measures 1/3 inch in overall length. The brush is designed for watercolour work on smooth or medium surfaces.

Build Integration

This brush works with water-based paints and coatings on drywall, metal or wood. The soft natural filament holds colour evenly and releases it without leaving heavy strokes. No additional tools are required for basic application.

Suitability

Artists needing fine detail and a soft touch will appreciate the camel hair bristles. Painters who want stiffer bristles for heavy-bodied acrylics or oils should look at something else. Buyers who need larger brush sizes for broad washes will also need a different tool.

Questions about this item

How long will the 9 mm camel hair bristles hold their shape during a long watercolor session?

The soft natural camel hair is designed for watercolor work and retains its point through extended use on smooth surfaces.

Does the nickel-plated copper ferrule get hot or slip when painting all day?

The metal ferrule stays secure on the wood handle and does not transfer noticeable heat during continuous brushwork.

What handle length and grip should I already be comfortable with for this #1 artist brush?

The short 1/3-inch wood handle with orange finish suits close-detail control; familiarity with short artist handles is expected.
