Professional Flat Sash Brush

The Wooster Brush Company Flat Sash Chinex 2-1/2in is a synthetic-filament brush built for applying all oil and water-based paints and coatings. Its firm Chinex bristles hold a heavy load and release it evenly across brick, concrete, drywall, metal and wood surfaces. The stainless-steel ferrule resists corrosion through repeated clean-ups.

Check Surface and Coating Compatibility

Verify that the project calls for a 2-1/2 inch flat sash profile on medium, rough or smooth substrates. Confirm the coating base is oil or water-based, as the brush is rated for both. Ensure the 5/8 inch bristle thickness and 2 15/16 inch length suit the trim, sash or detail work planned.

Wood Sash Handle and Stainless Ferrule

The wooden sash handle provides a traditional grip for controlled cutting-in and lay-off strokes. The stainless-steel ferrule eliminates rust stains on light-coloured finishes and extends service life through solvent-heavy clean-up cycles. No additional accessories or software are included with this brush.

Questions about this item

Does the brush come with a paint tray or roller cover?

The package contains only the flat sash brush with its wood handle and stainless-steel ferrule; trays, roller covers or extension poles are sold separately.

Should I choose the 2-1/2 inch width or a narrower version for cutting-in trim?

The 2-1/2 inch width with 5/8 inch bristle thickness carries enough paint for broad strokes yet keeps a crisp edge on trim; narrower sizes are offered separately for tighter detail work.

What does the 2-15/16 inch bristle length mean when I am painting a wall?

The 2-15/16 inch bristle length holds a generous paint load so you cover more area per dip while the firm Chinex filaments keep a sharp line on smooth, rough or medium surfaces.
