Professional Paint Roller Frame

The Wooster R017-14 is a 14 inch cage-style roller frame built for contractors and DIY painters applying any paint type. Its chrome-plated shank and 5/16 inch wire provide rigid support across the full roller length.

Comfort Grip Handle Design

The green polypropylene handle features a threaded, comfortable grip that accepts standard extension poles for ceiling and wall work. This ergonomic shape reduces hand fatigue during long coating sessions.

Simple Cage Installation

The end-cap cage design lets you slide a 14 inch roller cover on and off in seconds without tools. Misalignment of the cover core is the only common issue, causing uneven edges until the cover is centred correctly.

Questions about this item

How often will the 5/16 in chrome-plated shank need replacing under normal use?

The 5/16 in chrome-plated shank resists corrosion and bending; replacement is only needed if the wire is visibly deformed or the cage no longer holds the roller cover securely.

Which part reaches its limit first during a full day of rolling — the cage or the comfort-grip handle?

The cage end caps take the most stress; if the 14 in roller cover slips or the frame flexes beyond the 16 in overall length, the cage is the first component to show wear.

Does the green polypropylene handle stay cool and comfortable when rolling continuously for hours?

The threaded comfort-grip handle is designed to reduce hand fatigue and does not conduct heat, so it remains comfortable during extended use with all paint types.
