HDMI Extender over Cat5e/6/7

This HDMI extender transmits 1080p video and audio up to 196 feet using a single Cat6 LAN cable. It uses Power over Cable so the receiver draws power from the sender unit. The kit suits installers who need a simple point-to-point link for digital signage, conference rooms or home theatre. Buyers who need 4K resolution or runs longer than 196 feet cannot use this model.

Practical limits of Cat cable extension

The link supports 1080p at 60 Hz with zero latency when oxygen-free copper Cat6 cable is used. Cat5e or Cat7 may work but the supplier only guarantees full distance and stability with Cat6. The extender passes DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, Dolby AC3 and DSD audio formats. It does not support HDR metadata, higher refresh rates or resolutions above 1080p.

Installation and common issues

The units are plug-and-play with automatic EDID copying so the source and display negotiate settings without user intervention. Built-in ESD protection guards against static damage during handling. Common problems include using stranded patch cable instead of solid-core Cat6, exceeding the 196-foot limit, or forgetting that the receiver has no separate power adapter.

Questions about this item

Is this a single unit or a sender-and-receiver pair?

The listing shows one unit in the package; the extender requires both a transmitter and a receiver to operate over Cat5e/6/7 cable.

What does 1080p at 60 Hz mean for my display?

The extender passes full-HD 1080p video at 60 frames per second with zero latency, so motion stays smooth on projectors or monitors.

Which cable category limits the 196-foot reach?

The 196-foot distance is rated for oxygen-free copper Cat6; Cat5e or Cat7 may reduce the reliable range.
