What this capture device does

The WRIARICH HDMI to USB/Type-C Video Capture Device accepts a 4K HDMI source and delivers 1080p 60 fps video to a PC or Mac over USB 3.0. An HDMI loop-out passes the original signal through to a display at up to 4K 60 fps. Microphone and headphone sockets are included for live commentary or monitoring.

Who it suits and who it does not

Streamers, gamers and remote workers who need simple 1080p 60 fps capture from consoles, cameras or a second PC will find it plug-and-play on Windows and macOS. Buyers who must record or stream at 4K resolution over USB should look elsewhere because the USB path is limited to 1080p.

The spec that decides the purchase

The maximum capture resolution over USB is 1080p at 60 fps even though the HDMI input accepts 4K. If your workflow requires 4K recording or streaming through the USB connection, this device will not meet that requirement.
