Break-resistant electric sharpener

The X-Acto 1799X electric pencil sharpener uses a flyaway cutter that stops automatically when the tip reaches the ideal point, reducing lead breakage during heavy use. Its anti-clog gear is optimised for coloured pencils and a SafeStart motor halts operation whenever the large shavings bin is removed. The transparent housing gives a clear view of the cutting blades in action.

Classrooms, studios and home offices

Artists and students who need consistent, break-resistant points on both graphite and coloured pencils will benefit from the automatic stop and anti-clog features. Buyers who require a battery-powered or manual sharpener for portable use should consider a different design, as this model relies on mains power.

Flyaway cutter with automatic stop

The single specification that defines this sharpener is the flyaway cutter, which stops sharpening the moment the pencil reaches optimal sharpness, preventing over-sharpening and lead waste.
