What it is

Xmenha xx288 open-ear bone-conduction earbuds in purple sit outside the ear canal and transmit sound through vibration. They weigh 0.118 kilograms, connect via Bluetooth and run for up to six hours on the built-in 300 mAh cell. The design keeps ears uncovered so ambient noise remains audible during exercise or commuting.

Who should buy and who should not

Runners, cyclists and office workers who need situational awareness will appreciate the open fit and stable over-ear hooks. Listeners who want deep bass impact, active noise cancellation or a sealed in-ear seal should consider other styles because this model relies on air conduction and passive isolation only.

Deciding specification

The open-ear bone-conduction driver is the single trait that defines the product; it determines both the safety benefit of hearing surroundings and the acoustic compromise of reduced low-frequency response. If that trade-off matches your use case, the xx288 fits; if you need full isolation, it does not.

Questions about this item

Does the xx288 require a Bluetooth source to work?

Yes, the earbuds connect wirelessly via Bluetooth and need a phone, tablet, or computer with Bluetooth to stream audio.

Will the open-ear design let me keep using my existing wired headphones for private listening?

The xx288 sits outside the ear canal, so you can still plug wired headphones into your device for isolated listening whenever you prefer.

How can I confirm the bone-conduction drivers are producing sound correctly after pairing?

Play audio at a moderate volume; you should hear clear stereo playback while still noticing ambient sounds around you, and the LED indicator will show a steady connection state.
