15.4-inch Pen Display for Digital Artists

The XP Pen Artist 16 3rd is a 15.4-inch graphics tablet with a 1920 x 1080 screen that shows 16.7 million colours and covers 99% sRGB at Delta E < 1.5. It ships with an X4 Smart Chip Stylus offering 16384 pressure levels and +/- 60º tilt recognition. A foldable stand, glove and cleaning cloth are included.

Upgrade from Screenless Tablets or Older Displays

Moving up from a non-display tablet removes the hand-eye coordination gap, while the AG nano-etched glass with AF coating cuts glare and fingerprints that strain eyes on glossy panels. The jump is worth it when colour-critical work demands Delta E < 1.5 accuracy and 16384 pressure levels for finer line control.

Driver Install and Cable Routine

Install the driver from the supplied card, then connect via the full-featured USB-C to USB-C cable or the 3-in-1 cable for HDMI plus USB-A power. Android 10.0 devices need USB 3.1 DP1.2 support; otherwise the display will not activate. Linux and ChromeOS 88 or later work with standard drivers. Common issues are missing DP alt mode on the host port or using a charge-only cable.

Questions about this item

How much desk depth does the 15.4-inch display with its foldable stand require?

The foldable stand included with the Artist 16 3rd lets you set the 15.4-inch screen at a comfortable angle without a separate mount; allow roughly the display depth plus a few centimetres for the stand foot.

Which cable should I use first when connecting the tablet to a Windows 10 PC, and what common step is missed?

Plug the full-featured USB-C to USB-C cable into a host port that carries DisplayPort 1.2 video; the step often missed is installing the driver from the download card before launching your art software.

How many spare nibs come with the X4 Smart Chip Stylus and how do I swap them?

Ten replacement nibs and a nib removal tool are supplied; pull the worn nib straight out with the tool and press a fresh one in until it seats firmly.
