A 360-degree laser scanner for ROS robots measuring at 8000 to 32000 times per second with a 10 to 20 Hz scan rate and Class 1 eye-safe infrared laser
The yahboom Silan Lidar Sensor (A1 UP VER) is a 360-degree laser scanner designed for SLAM navigation and obstacle avoidance. It suits developers building service robots, AGV vehicles or research platforms that need indoor or outdoor ranging data. The unit provides ROS robot information and professional technical support for integration.
The sensor uses a self-designed brushless motor that removes belt-drive friction for smooth, quiet rotation. Mechanical mounting is straightforward, but software setup requires configuring the correct measurement frequency between 8000 and 32000 times per second and scanning frequency from 10 to 20 Hz. Incorrect frequency selection is the typical cause of noisy or incomplete scans.
The Class 1 infrared laser delivers 360-degree omni-directional scanning to build contour maps of the surrounding environment. It comfortably handles indoor navigation and AGV obstacle detection at the stated frequencies. The sensor runs out of headroom when an application demands measurement rates beyond 32000 samples per second or scan rates above 20 Hz.
