Yale Accentra 4708LN Classroom Lever Lockset

The Yale Accentra 4708LN is a Grade 1 cylindrical lockset designed for classroom function. It features a 4700LN Augusta style lever with a dull chrome 626 finish and heavy gauge steel construction. The lockset operates with a 6-pin cylinder and includes two keys keyed differently. It meets ANSI/BHMA A156.2 Grade 1 standards with ADA compliance and UL/cUL fire rating for three hours.

Check Door Thickness and Backset Compatibility

Verify your door thickness falls within the 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inch range before ordering. Confirm the existing backset measures 2-3/4 inches to match this lockset specification. Ensure the strike plate dimensions of 2-1/4 by 4-7/8 inches align with your frame preparation. The rose diameter is 3-1/2 inches for reference during installation.

Suits Commercial Classroom Security Needs

This lockset suits commercial doors requiring classroom function where the outside lever is locked by key while the inside lever always allows free egress. It is not for buyers needing an entry function with push-button locking from the inside. It is not for residential doors thinner than 1-3/8 inches or thicker than 1-3/4 inches. It is not for projects requiring a different backset dimension.

Which finish and function should I select for a classroom door that meets ANSI/BHMA A 156.2 Grade 1?

Choose the 626 dull chrome finish with the classroom function; it is Grade 1 certified and complies with the ANSI/BHMA A 156.2 standard.

What does the Grade 1 rating mean for daily use on a classroom door?

Grade 1 indicates the highest ANSI/BHMA durability level, so the lock withstands heavy traffic and repeated operation typical of classroom environments.
