YAWV Brushless Pruning Shears for DeWalt 20V Max

This cordless pruning shear runs on DeWalt 20V Max batteries and weighs 1.6 pounds. It is built for gardeners and landscapers who already own DeWalt power tool batteries and want a lightweight cutting tool for branches. The SK5 high carbon steel blade with serrated parrot beak edge handles cutting diameters from .8 to 1.2 inches. It suits ambidextrous users tackling routine tree and shrub maintenance.

Installation is battery insertion and trigger flip

No tools are required to start; insert a compatible DeWalt 20V Max pack such as DCB200 DCB201 DCB203 DCB204 DCB205 DCB206 DCB230 DCB240 DCB246 DCB248 DCBP520 and pull the trigger for .5 second cuts. The LCD display shows operating status. The main issue is forgetting that no battery or charger is included, so the tool will not run until a suitable pack is sourced separately.

Brushless motor sustains 26000 RPM under load

The brushless design reduces wear by 150 percent and cuts energy consumption by 60 percent compared with a pure copper motor, delivering consistent torque during extended pruning sessions. Output power is increased by 100 percent and motor life by 300 percent, so the shear maintains cutting speed through dense wood without the slowdown typical of brushed units. Heat buildup stays low during continuous use.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the brushless motor is running at its rated 26000 RPM after I insert a DeWalt 20V Max battery?

The LCD display shows real-time operating status so you can verify the motor is active; a clean 0.5 second cut on a 25 mm branch indicates the motor is delivering full speed.

What comes in the box and which DeWalt 20V Max batteries must I supply myself?

The package includes only the cordless pruning shears; you must provide a compatible DeWalt 20V Max battery such as DCB200, DCB201, DCB203, DCB204, DCB205, DCB206, DCB230, DCB240, DCB246, DCB248 or DCBP520.

Which cutting diameter setting — 0.8 inch or 1.2 inch — should I select for 25 mm branches?

The adjustable cutting diameter ranges from 0.8 to 1.2 inch; for 25 mm branches use the wider 1.2 inch setting to ensure the SK5 parrot-beak blades close fully.
