USB to IEEE 1394 6-pin Firewire cable
This YEPLOOK cable connects a USB-A host port to a 6-pin IEEE 1394 device. It is intended solely for DV video capture from camcorders and similar equipment. The double-layer shielding helps maintain signal integrity during transfer. Length is one metre.
For DV capture only — not for storage
Suitable for users moving tape-based footage into editing software such as Premiere, Vegas or Edius. It will not work with Firewire hard drives or other mass-storage peripherals. Buyers who need to connect external disks should look at a different cable. Systems without a 1394 controller chip cannot use this adapter for capture.
Check host controller and software before ordering
Verify that the computer has a native IEEE 1394 controller or a compatible add-in card; a plain USB port alone is insufficient. Confirm that suitable DV capture software is installed and configured. Ensure the camcorder or deck uses a 6-pin Firewire connector, not a 4-pin variant.

Questions about this item
Does my PC need a built-in 1394 chip for this cable to capture DV footage?
Yes, the computer must support a 1394 port and have a 1394 chip; otherwise a video capture card is required instead.
Can I keep using my older DV camera that only has a 6-pin 1394 socket with this cable?
The cable provides a 6-pin IEEE 1394 connector that fits the DV port on legacy cameras, so the camera can stay in use.
How do I confirm the link is active after connecting the camera and launching Premiere?
When the capture software detects the DV device and shows a live preview or timecode, the 1394 connection is working correctly.
