Clear PVC Chair Mat Set for Low-Pile Carpet

This four-piece set of clear PVC floor mats is designed for home and office workstations on low-pile carpet up to 6 mm thick. Each mat measures 120 cm by 90 cm with a 2.5 mm body thickness and 2 mm studs. The studded back grips the carpet without piercing it, while the non-slip matte surface eases chair movement.

Sustained Load and Daily Wear

The mats carry a tested static load capacity of 550 lbs, so they resist permanent indentation from heavy chairs and desks over long periods. PVC construction at 2.5 mm thickness offers greater wear resistance than thinner 1.5 mm or 2 mm alternatives. Water resistance allows quick cleanup of spills without surface degradation.

Simple Layout and Common Issues

Installation is straightforward: unroll each mat and press it onto the carpet so the studs engage. The package includes four manuals for reference. The main difficulty is that PVC can hold a rolled shape after shipping; allow time for the mats to flatten fully before use, otherwise edges may curl and create trip points.

Questions about this item

Does the 2.5 mm PVC sheet emit any odour or off-gassing after it has been in place all day?

The mat passes the Phthalates 6P test and is free of BFA, volatile toxins, cadmium, tin and lead, so no noticeable odour or off-gassing occurs during extended use.

What floor surface must I already have for the 1/16 inch studs to grip properly?

The studded back is designed for low-pile carpet up to 1/4 inch thick; it will not grip on hard floors or high-pile carpet.

Will the 47 1/4 by 35 7/16 inch rectangles sit flat on the worn low-pile carpet I already own?

Yes, the studs grip low-pile carpet up to 1/4 inch thick without piercing it, so the mats lie flat on existing carpet of that type.
