4-Pack 36-Inch Cable Railing Posts

This 4-pack of 36-inch black cable railing posts is built for deck and stair projects that require code-compliant horizontal infill. Each post is crafted from high-grade 304 stainless steel with a rust-resistant, UV-resistant coating for indoor or outdoor durability. The flat-top design functions as a structural end or intermediate post in a complete railing system. Contractors and DIY renovators receive four posts ready for surface mounting on wood or concrete substrates.

Pre-Drilled Hole Spacing and Code Compliance

Ten pairs of pre-drilled horizontal holes are spaced exactly 3.5-inch apart to satisfy the standard 4-inch sphere test for guardrail safety. This factory spacing removes layout guesswork and speeds installation on straight runs. The large top bracket adds handrail stability across the full 36-inch height. Builders needing custom hole patterns, angled runs, or taller post heights will need to source or fabricate different components.

Included Hardware for Wood and Concrete Mounting

Every pack includes lag screws and concrete anchors for securing foot covers to wood or concrete floors, plus self-drilling screws and machine screws for attaching wood or metal handrails to the top bracket. The mixed fastener kit covers the most common deck framing scenarios without extra trips to the hardware store. Projects involving steel framing, composite substructures, or specialized anchor requirements will need additional hardware not supplied in this kit.

Questions about this item

Will the 3.5-inch hole spacing on these 36-inch posts match the 4-inch sphere test if I keep my existing handrail brackets?

The 10 pairs of pre-drilled holes are spaced exactly 3.5 inches apart to strictly comply with the standard 4-inch sphere test, and the large top bracket is designed for superior handrail stability.

How can I verify the 304 stainless steel posts with black coating are installed correctly after mounting?

Confirm each post is plumb, the foot cover sits flush, the 10 hole pairs align horizontally at 3.5-inch spacing, and the top bracket holds the handrail rigidly without movement.

Which fasteners come in the 4-pack for wood, concrete and metal handrails, and what must I buy separately?

The box includes lag screws, concrete anchors, self-drilling screws and machine screws for wood or metal handrails plus a stylish foot cover; cable wire rope, protector sleeves, swage tensioners and crimping tools are sold separately.
