YINGHUA 0F8NV 1U CPU Heatsink

The YINGHUA 0F8NV 1U CPU heatsink is built for Dell PowerEdge R640 and R740 servers. It provides the thermal interface required for the CPU socket in these 1U chassis. System integrators maintaining or upgrading these specific platforms will find the correct fitment. Buyers needing a heatsink for a different server generation or form factor cannot use this part.

Thermals noise and power draw

The heatsink transfers processor heat to the system airflow path managed by the server fans. It adds no active components so it produces no noise of its own and draws no electrical power. Thermal performance depends on the server fan configuration and the processor TDP installed. The part is supplied new and ready for installation.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 0F8NV heatsink in a 1U PowerEdge R640 or R740, and what step is often missed?

Align the heatsink with the CPU socket mounting holes, apply thermal paste if the surface is bare, then tighten the captive screws in a diagonal pattern to ensure even pressure across the die.

What maintenance will the 0F8NV heatsink need during its service life in a PowerEdge R640 or R740?

Periodically inspect the fin stack for dust build-up and clean with compressed air; replace the thermal interface material whenever the heatsink is removed or CPU temperatures rise unexpectedly.
