Tool-Free 2.5-Inch SATA Enclosure

The YINGHUA aluminium enclosure accepts any 2.5-inch SATA hard drive or SSD up to 10 TB and connects through a USB 3.0 port. No tools are required to install a drive, and the JMS578 chipset handles the SATA-to-USB translation. A 45 cm USB cable and a USB Type-C OTG adapter are included for direct phone transfers.

Sustained 6 Gbps Transfer With LED Status

The enclosure supports the full SATA 6 Gbps link speed so long sequential reads and writes stay at the drive’s native rate rather than throttling after a burst. An integrated LED shows power and activity at a glance. Hot-swap capability lets you change drives without rebooting the host computer.

Upgrades Bare Drives To Portable Storage

This turns an internal notebook drive into an external volume for backups, media libraries or moving large project files between Windows, macOS and legacy systems back to Windows 98 SE. It is not suited for 3.5-inch desktop drives, M.2 modules or any drive thicker than 9.5 mm.

Questions about this item

How much power does the JMS578 chip draw when the enclosure runs all day with a 10TB drive?

The enclosure uses bus power from the USB 3.0 port; no external adapter is needed for 2.5-inch SATA drives up to 10TB.

What cable or adapter must I already have to connect this enclosure to my laptop?

A 45 cm USB 3.0 cable is included; the box also supplies a USB 3.0 Type-C OTG adapter for phones.

Will my older 7 mm SATA II SSD work at full speed inside this case?

The internal 7+15-pin SATA interface supports SATA I, II and III drives, so a 7 mm SATA II SSD will operate at its native rate.
