Transmitter for IP-based HDMI KVM extension

This transmitter unit extends HDMI video and USB keyboard and mouse signals up to 200 metres over a single CAT5e or CAT6 cable. It operates on the TCP/IP standard and supports point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and cascade connection modes. The pure hardware design requires no additional software or drivers for installation.

Distance and resolution limits of the CAT5e/6 link

The extender delivers a maximum reach of 200 metres while supporting video resolutions of 480p, 720p and 1080p. Audio is carried at sample rates of 32, 44.1 and 48 kHz. HDCP 1.4 content protection is supported and the link conforms to the 802.3 Ethernet standard for network compatibility.

Single transmitter requires separate receiver

This listing supplies only the transmitter side; a compatible receiver unit is needed at the display end to complete the extension. Buyers who need an out-of-the-box pair or a multi-receiver kit must source the additional hardware separately. The unit includes a US-plug power adapter and supports IR remote control at 38 kHz.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the TX unit or do I need a matching RX unit for my setup?

The listing supplies one transmitter only; a separate receiver is required at the display end to complete the link.

What does the 200 m figure mean when the extender is connected in my office?

It is the maximum reach over a single CAT5e or CAT6 cable between transmitter and receiver at supported resolutions.

Which Ethernet standard does the extender use and what bandwidth does that cap me at?

It follows the 802.3 Ethernet standard, so the link runs at standard Fast Ethernet or Gigabit speeds depending on the switch.
