Direct replacement for Dell OptiPlex USFF desktops

This 200 W power supply is built for Dell OptiPlex 780, 790, 990, 7010, 9010 and 9020 ultra-small-form-factor systems. It matches the original 06YWW7 and 04GVWP part numbers, so installers can swap the unit without adapter cables or case modifications. The brick-style form factor fits the proprietary mounting points used across these six chassis generations.

Cooling and power profile in daily operation

The internal fan spins only as fast as the load demands, keeping acoustic output low during typical office workloads. At idle the draw is minimal, rising toward the 200 W ceiling only under sustained multi-core activity. No external power brick is required; the unit connects directly to the mains inlet on the rear of each supported OptiPlex.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 200W power supply into an Optiplex 7010 USFF, and what step is often missed?

Slide the unit into the chassis until the latch clicks, then secure the single retention screw; the step often missed is forgetting to tighten that screw, which leaves the PSU loose.

What maintenance will this 200W PSU need later, and when should the fan be replaced?

Clean the intake vents every 6 months with compressed air; replace the internal fan if bearing noise appears or airflow drops, typically after several years of continuous use.
