60 m USB HDMI KVM Extender

This extender carries uncompressed 1080p video and USB keyboard or mouse signals up to 60 metres over a single Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable. It suits DVR, PC, laptop or TV monitor setups that need remote operation. Both transmitter and receiver provide 3.5 mm stereo audio output. Windows and Mac systems are supported.

Check your cabling and ports

Verify that the source device has an HDMI output and the display accepts HDMI input at 1080p 60 Hz or 1920 x 1200 resolution. A qualified Cat 5e or Cat 6 patch cable must run the full distance between units. Ensure USB ports are available for keyboard and mouse connection at the remote end. The kit includes a UK mains plug for power.

Build quality and daily use

The units are compact and designed for desktop or rack placement near the source and display. HDMI, USB and 3.5 mm jacks are oriented for straightforward cable routing. IR control allows the remote to operate the source device from the display side. The extender operates without compression, preserving image quality across the full link.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy the Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable separately?

The package includes the transmitter and receiver units with UK power adapters, IR cables and a 3.5 mm audio cable. A qualified Cat 5e or Cat 6 Ethernet cable up to 60 m is not included and must be purchased separately.

Should I choose a Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable for the 60 m run?

Either a qualified Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable will carry the uncompressed 1080p signal at the full 60 m distance. Cat 6 gives slightly better noise immunity but both meet the specification.

Will the 1080p 60 Hz signal stay sharp at the full 60 m over Cat 6?

Yes, the extender delivers uncompressed 1920 x 1200 or 1080p at 60 Hz with HDMI audio extraction at the maximum 60 m distance over a qualified Cat 6 cable.
