4-Flute HRC45 Roughing End Mill

This solid carbide roughing end mill carries an Altin coating and a 45 hardness rating. Four flutes give a strong chip load for aggressive material removal. CNC operators cutting aluminium, cast iron, steel, stainless steel or copper will find it suited to high-volume roughing passes. The tool is supplied new in individual packaging.

Coating and hardness limits

Altin coating raises heat resistance and reduces built-up edge on abrasive alloys. The HRC45 substrate balances toughness with wear life but is not intended for hardened steels above that hardness. Cutting parameters must stay within the coating’s thermal window to avoid premature flank wear. Coolant strategy and spindle rigidity become the practical constraints.

Solid carbide construction

A single-piece tungsten carbide blank eliminates braze joints that can fracture under heavy radial loads. The 15 mm flute length and 50 mm overall length fit standard ER collets and shrink-fit holders without overhang issues. Separate packaging protects the cutting edges during storage and tool changes.
