Thermals, noise and power draw

The 750 W rating delivers rated output for the supported PowerEdge platforms under normal workloads. Internal fans adjust speed to maintain safe temperatures while keeping acoustic levels appropriate for server-room environments. Power draw scales with the connected system load up to the rated maximum.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 750W PSU into a PowerEdge R720, and what step is often missed?

Slide the unit into the hot-plug bay until the latch clicks; the step often missed is fully seating the connector so the 18 A rail engages.

What maintenance or replacement will the 750W PSU need later?

The internal fan is the only wear item; expect replacement after several years of continuous 750 W load in a PowerEdge R620.
